I very much enjoy tutoring students because it gives me an opportunity to help them to understand things that I find fascinating – such as novels, history or even just the English language itself. It is also wonderful to see the progress that students can make quite quickly when they have someone to help and guide them in their study.
Outside of tutoring, my main hobby is dance. I have studied ballet and jazz/contemporary for about 18 years now, and I still love to learn and improve my skills, and of course perform also. I also enjoy spending time reading, and watching films – and better yet discussing these things with others. But perhaps what I enjoy most is spending time with my friends, family and of course my dog!
I am a passionate person and consider myself to be a hard working, innovative individual.
Much of my professional experience is in childcare for primary school children and I have worked for two families as a nanny and tutor whilst completing my tertiary education and a large part of my role in both cases was assisting with schoolwork with a particular focus on reading and language skills.
I achieved a Victorian ENTER score for my year 12 study of 93, with outstanding scores in Revolutionary History, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods and English Literature.

In my role as a classical voice, violin and music theory teacher, I assist young children and adults in their journey towards understanding, appreciating and ultimately, creating music. This requires a high level of articulacy as well as a very positive and sensitive approach to the learning process. Flexibility in the way I deliver information is incredibly important, as each individual has different ways of learning. As part of my role, I prepare lesson plans for each student which address the key areas I have identified as needing more attention. These can include anything from the fundamentals of technique and musicianship skills to the introduction of new music theory concepts through games and improvisation. In the lesson, I am constantly devising new ways of delivering material in a more engaging and memorable way. Above all, I try always to ensure my enthusiasm for music comes across, no matter what we are working on. I have received very positive feedback from parents and students.
Hi my name is Ivan. Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, saxophone and guitar. In addition, I also enjoy playing basketball with my team in a local competition.
Hi everyone,
I have been tutoring ever since the completion of my HSC. I enjoy seeing my students achieve what they deserve and knowing that their hard work will pay off. I believe that in order to raise a student’s marks, both the student and tutor must put in effort. Therefore, I will work closely with you, pin point your weakness and tackle it together.
I was the section leader of the clarinet in my high school orchestra so naturally, I enjoy listening music and making music.
I love seeing students grow and learn. It’s been a passion of mine, the curiosity in their eyes and being the one to create that “spark” within a child’s mind makes me very happy.
I am currently studying a Master in Teaching (Primary) and I am extremely passionate about educational equity and ensuring every child has access to educational opportunities regardless of locality. This is a reason why I enjoy tutoring, as it means that I can teach to the needs of each individual student so they receive the support they require outside of school hours. I extremely enjoy travelling and have spent time volunteering and teaching in South East Asia and I hope to be able to continue combining both interests of travel and education together in the future.
