I have been a private tutor for the past 3 years in Sydney NSW and before that worked with North Home Tuition, my local tutoring company, helping students from year 7-12 mainly in mathematics. I also volunteered in running my local High School, Mount St Benedict College (Pennant Hills) weekly mathematics workshops. I have previously studied a Bachelor of Science- Psychology and Mathematics (minoring in education) at Macquarie University in NSW and have just recently moved to Melbourne to study a Post-Graduate Diploma of Education- Secondary. About Me
I would love to continue tutoring as I find it a particularly rewarding experience. I find that it really compliments class room studies as it gives students the opportunity to voice any difficulties or problems they are having. I’m currently an undergraduate student studying a Bachelor of science degree at the University of Melbourne. I really enjoy tutoring and have started an education elective this semester which allows me to enhance my tutoring capabllities by volunteering as a tutor for people who can’t afford it but still need the assistance. I have a strong belief in students themselves and love helping them achieve their goals to their highest potential so that once they begin to understand the topic, it’s not so much just memorising – its about actually thinking and applying what they know and they begin to enjoy it themselves. I currently tutor a year 12 psychology student at Kew High (my former high school). I go through each topic with which is relevant to the area of study and use specific psychology terms such as the ‘self-reference effect’ so that the student not only learns what that means in terms of psychology but it may also enhance her learning. As a result, the student’s sac marks are above average and they were able to catch up to the rest of their class mates even after being away on vacation for a month.
I am a friendly female who is outgoing with a sense of humor. I enjoy reading, hiking and travelling and have been to many places. I enjoy helping others to understand concepts in subjects I am passionate about.

My name is Caitlin and I am an 18 year old university student at the University of Melbourne who graduated from St Margaret’s school in 2013. I currently work with children aged 5-12 as a Hot Shots tennis coach, a job that I love. It is my aim that after I complete my undergraduate degree to study fourth year honours in Psychology and then postgraduate studies to become a Clinical Educational Psychologist.
