About Me

Teaching Experience

I am a private French tutor since July 2014, teaching conversation, and VCE exams preparation, as well as providing Arabic conversation and basic language lessons. I also do online French, English and Arabic translation. I have a Certificate IV in Training and assessment (2015).
Before moving to Melbourne, I was working as a French lecturer at Ain Shams University, Egypt (May 2010- December 2013), teaching French language and translation as a second language. I have also been working as a freelancer translator for the past 9 years, as well as volunteering with charitable associations and participating in community service activities.
I hold a Master’s degree in French lexicography (2014), and a bachelor degree in French linguistics and translation from faculty of Languages (Al Alsun), Ain Shams University (2009). I went to French primary and secondary school (1993-2005).
My French language experience includes teaching, as well as translating texts from different fields such as: literary, financial, scientific, legal, general documents, in addition to translating a French novel (L’Oeuvre by Emile Zola), two scientific French books (L’Histoire des Sciences- L’Histoire de la folie) and a kids’ scientific magazine (J’explore le ciel et les étoiles).
I have my own car and Australian driver’s license, and a current working with Children check.
I am able and used to work independently and unsupervised, and I have good and effective communication skills, as I have been teaching children and adults from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
