About Me

While studying and working at University College and the University of Melbourne I have enjoyed learning and conducting research, and I have particularly developed a passion for teaching. Quality teaching depends on factors ranging from high-level curriculum design to individual student instruction. By completing a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching I am extending my skills across this range of factors. I still find the most satisfying thing is helping students understand concepts and methods that they previously struggled to understand. The creative challenge of generating novel ways to communicate ideas, and the look on a student’s face when it just “clicks”, are by far the best parts of teaching.

Teaching Experience

University of Melbourne – tutor, demonstrator and lecturer of Third Year and Masters students in two science subjects: Environmental Risk Assessment, and Environmental Impact Assessment.

University College (University of Melbourne) – Resident Tutor mentoring and tutoring First and Second Year Science and Environments students.

Melbourne City Mission – volunteer tutor for Year 9 and 10 mathematics.
