My name is Catherine and I am a qualified primary school teacher. I completed my Graduate Diploma of Teaching in 2013. I also have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne with a major in history and literature.

I am currently a second-year student at Trinity College, University of Melbourne undertaking a Bachelor of Biomedicine, looking to major in Human Structure and Function.
I am hoping to receive a place in postgraduate medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2018.
Over the summer, I coach rowing part-time at Melbourne Grammar School and offer casual tutoring to secondary school students throughout the year.

For three years I aided my Year 12 English teacher with planning and teaching lessons and private tutoring for her students in year 10 and year 12. Throughout last year, I tutored Specialist Mathematics through an agency and year 11 mathematics independently. The students I worked with told me they felt they had made significant improvement in terms of confidence and their school results improved likewise.
In my final year of school I tutored two students (year 7 mathematics and year 11 French) at school. This was largely independent and has taught me the importance of organisation and initiative. I also volunteered my services as a tutor at my school’s Exodus House program, which involved helping primary school-aged children from a disadvantaged local area with their schoolwork. In 2015 I attended the National Mathematics Summer School and was invited back as one of ten students as an Experienced Group member for last year’s camp.
